Hi,
The F11 code is saying that there's a loss of communication between the CCU circuit board and the MCU circuit board (The first is a controller board the second is the motor control board) Whirlpool had some bad quality control on the CCU board and as such there are bad solder joints (also known as cold solder joints) on the CCU board meaning hit-or-miss communications with the MCU. After checking to make sure all connections are tight and you still have the problem, the cure is to remove the CCU board (inside machine, top, back, plastic case) remove the whole case, it's easier that way. After you remove the case then remove the board for repair. The spots on the circuit board that need to be touched-up are the points where the spade connectors and relays (5 of them) are supposed to be connected to the circuit board. These spots are easy to spot, they are larger than all the othe solder points on the board. If your not up on soldering techniques just remove the CCU case with board and take it, along with this response, to a good appliance repair shop and they should be able to help you out. This repair also cures the FdL code that often comes along with the F11 code. If luck is on your side, by removing the front panel under the door (3 screws at bottom of machine) the technicians service packet may still be taped to the inside wall of the machine, this will help explain some of the codes and troubleshooting on the machine. Good luck.
