Make sure the fuses aren't blown. There should be fuses on the amp itself and an in-line fuse in the live power wire near the car battery. If the fuses aren't blown, make sure the remote wire is connected from the head unit. Then re-check your power and ground connections. The ground should be solidly connected to the vehicle chassis in a paint-free location.

Jl 250/1 no power light or sound. Votage to the amp is good. I tested it off the ground so ground is good to.

Check the fuse(s). Check that the remote turn on connection on the amp is connected to the remote turn on line of the head unit. When in doubt, you can connect the remote turn on connection of the amp to the +12V connection to see if the amp turns on at all.

I HAVE A PPI PCX 2200 THAT IS NOT GETTING ANY POWER AT ALL I CHECKED ALL FUSES STILL NO POWER

1.verify connections...Make sure your ground wire is grounded to a location on the body where you will sand the paint away to make good metal to metal contact. 2.with a volt meter check for battery voltage on the red wire of the amp as close to the amp as possible.verify that your remote or trigger wire from the radio (blue wire) id connected to the remote terminal of the amp.. turn on key switch, turn on radio and see if amp powers up. if no then verify 12 vdc at the remote terminal of amp, very 12vdc at red power wire. verify ground. If all this is good i would suspect you have a faulty amp.

Power cap has power amp protect light is on ?

If there is a protection light then you have a bad power or ground connection. First thing I recommend you do is to get a regular test light with a ground alligator clip and test for a ground on your power cable. The way to do this is to place the alligator clip to either your amp turn on wire which is the small blue wire coming from your radio to turn the amp on or another powered wire and place the tip of the test light to the main power cable that powers the amp or the Capacitor and if your test light lights up then you have to trace the power cable from amp back to battery + terminal and see where the power cable is pinched or making a ground contact also check your blue amp turn on wire and see if it has a ground to it. If all this checks out then check your cars battery terminals, make sure they are not loose, corroded, rusty or damaged check fuses or take out amps fuses and reinsert to see if it resets, check all ground connections on amp and cap,if none of this works for you then you might have a defective cap or amp.

Good luck.

LED LIGHTS DONT TURN ON

3 Options.
Check your powerwire, and make sure you fuse in your power wire is good and that your getting power.

Make sure you have a good ground. A bad ground will not allow your amp to turn on

Your remote wire that runs from you stereo. Make sure it's connected from you H/U to your amp. If you forget your remote wire(Blue), your amp will not turn on.

Power amps must be connected + battery wire to the amp +b terminal with a gauge 8 or bigger depending on the power rating, - ground to the car chassis as short as possible, connect cords from head unit to power amp with good groundings, and remember to connect the speakers and the remote trigger from head unit to turn the amp on.

Rockford Amp - When grounded, both power and thermal lights go off

You shouldn't have the power wire connected to the amp without having the amp's ground terminal connected to a good ground. With some amps, it will damage the head unit.

Does the amp power up normally if you connect power and ground and then apply remote voltage (turn the head unit on)?

Amp

Sisnce you didn't mention the protection LED, I'll assume it's not on.

You need to measure the voltage across the B+ and ground terminals of the amplifier to confirm that the voltage at the terminals is least 11 volts. Also check the voltage on the remote turn-on terminal. Place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp and set the meter to DC volts.

AMP turns ON then turns off

The power antenna wire only supplies 12vdc when the radio is on. When CD or other sources are selected, the power antenna wire goes to 0vdc. The remote turn-on wire provides 12vdc whenever the head-unit is on. If your amps are powered on only when the radio is turned on, I would bet that you have the power antenna wire connected and not the remote turnon wire.

Amp

Make sure the amplifier is turning on. Remember ther is three wires that power the amp Battery constant, Ground which in a fiberglass boat run ground to battery not motor, Plus make sure the remote wire is hooked to power, generally it is switched power. But if the amp is not turning on temporarily hook remote and power together to battery and see if the amplifier turs on. Second be sure you have a good set of RCA cables hooking the radio to the amp. And finally check and make sure the gain is turned up on the amplifier.
