You need to restore your iPod from Disk mode:
  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

  5. Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect"
  6. Open iTunes.
  7. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
  8. Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.

Hope that helps.
Cheers.

My ipod says www.apple.com/support/ipod

Hi,

This means there's some kind of problem with the iPod.
It might be solved by resetting or restoring your iPod. Otherwise, you'll probably need to take the iPod into an Apple store to see what's wrong.

Here's how to reset your iPod:
  1. Turn on the iPod, and make sure it's unlocked (no red is showing by the switch at the top)
  2. Press the "menu" button (at the top of the circle) and the "select" button (middle of the circle) at the same time and hold them down for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo on the screen
Here's how to restore your iPod:
NOTE: this will delete all music, etc. from your iPod
  1. Plug your iPod into the computer
  2. Open iTunes
  3. Click on "Restore" (on the "Summary" tab).
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

You'll need to resync all your music etc. to get it back on the iPod after it's been restored.
If your iPod does not show up in iTunes, use these directions to put it into disk mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
Then try the restore directions again.

Hope this helps!

My ipod touch wont work

If iPod touch won't turn on, or if the display freezes or doesn't respond
  • iPod touch may need charging. See "Charging the Battery" in the iPod touch Features Guide.
  • Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  • If that doesn't work, turn off iPod touch and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  • If that doesn't work, reset iPod touch. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If iPod touch continues to freeze or not respond after you reset it
  • Reset iPod touch settings. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but your data and media are left untouched.
  • If that doesn't work, erase all content on iPod touch. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > "Erase All Content and Settings." All your preferences are reset, and all your data and media are removed from iPod touch.

To reset the iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. When Apple logo appears, reset is done.
