Most circular 7-1/4 saws have a bolt and a compression washer that acts as a brake shoe that holds the blade secure but under dire circumstances will allow the blade to slip some rather than hold the motor shaft and allow burn out. The compression washer under your bolt has become worn and doesn't grip the blade securely. You can find a split washer that will fit under the blade and give you some more friction, or go to sears and order another compression washer for your saw.In the Sears Parts List found at: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Craftsman-Parts/Saw-Parts/Model-32018780/0247/0744410/50035950/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

My circular saw is not working

Check brushes...
Dewalt Craftsman 2 Pack Carbon Brush Holder for Saws 147097 09 2pk
or sometimes the switch fails...
Craftsman 7621301 Circular Saw Switch
if you luck out, it may just be a broken wire, right at the switch, or right where it enters the saw? Pulling the, or directly on the cord vs. just the plug puts a lot of strain on the wires.
But if it is one of the parts above, very easy repair.

Saw stops when i start cutting 1/2 plywood.

If it actually binds and stops the motor...... it sounds like the motor is bad, the bearings are bad, or the blade is on backwards. If the motor keeps spinning, but the blade stops then the gears are bad or the blade bolt is not tight.

I bent the depth of cut scale on a Craftsman 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw. How to true it so I can again set correct depths?

With the saw unplugged, lay it upside down on a bench or table. Put a small scrap of 2x4 against the blade and adjust until the depth of the blade matches the thickness of the 2x4. Lock it in place, Then bend or adjust the depth scale so that it reads 1-1/2 inches. Good luck.

Need substitute switch part for sears saw

Sorry , but go buy a new saw. Your not going to find an aftermarket
dealer that carries this switch.

Trying to rig some other switch is not worth the trouble over buying a new one. If the switch is not available, then the saw is old.

Not cutting right - or at all

Depending on how much use the saw has gotten over the years the problem could be a very dull blade, worn out motor brushes, or a nearly worn out motor. The danger is that a power tool that is not working as it should is much more hazardous than a newer saw that is working properly.
