hi there.
you could try and do a restore to the last date it all worked fine.
or see if starting up in safe mode might help you find out.but i would try the restore first.
Try checking your computer's driver. Right click on Computer. Go to Device Manager. The device drivers are listed in the device manager. Drivers are used to make your computer parts communicate with the operating system. If it has a problem, then the part won't work.
Check for your wireless driver - update it. If no go, then try turning off your wireless adapter in your computer and turn it on. Check = if no go. Try going to safe mode with networking.
To go to safe mode. Do the following:
1. Restart your computer. While it's starting or booting, keep tapping F8 until you see the options to go to safe mode with networking. Use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode with networking.
2. Let your computer start in safe mode. Check if wireless is working fine.
If you want to avoid this kind of problem in the future or if you want to make sure that your computer is running well, then install Radarsync.
#1 ensure the wireless switch on the right side of the chassis is in the forward (On) position (I accidentally turn my wireless off about once a month putting the system in my carry bag.)
#2 if no change reset BIOS defaults
#3 Fn + F2
when sharing internet connection, it's all about sequence when turning it on... Sequence in regard to what's turned on first, second etc... Here's the solution: 1. Turn everything off... modem, router...computers etc.. 2. Turn on the wireless router FIRST and let it boot up. 3. Then turn on the modem and let it cycle up... This allows your modem to lock onto the wifi router. 4. Turn everything else back on... You should be good to go without drop outs...
If the power goes out, simply follow this sequence... It's all about the sequence!!
Did the wireless icon from your machine light up? If no, you need to re-install your wi-fi driver. If you have the cds with you, re-install the driver then switched on your wi-fi. If you dnt have the cds, try checking on the HP site and look for the wi-fi driver.

reset the network settings both on the computer and your router and start again. go to the website for your router and enter the ip or mac address for your wirless card and enable it on your network. to get your computer to recognise the network, turn off wireless, plug it in the local area connection first then for a few minnutes then enable the wireless and unplug the wire and it should recognise.
