It depends on what type of batteries you are talking about. If they are batteries that are charged in a AA type that uses 120 volts then it will work.

Smart controller 100/30

That unit supplies 880 watts of charging power for 24 volts. In the event that there is a larger draw on the current, it would be limited. However the unit is not supplying the whole load so it would be fine.

Camera wont turn on

1. Are you sure the battery is fully charged?
You can charge the battery by connecting the Olympus USB cable to the camera and computer.
Or using the delivered wall charger. When charging the orange LED on the camera should light.
When fully charged, the LED is off.
2. If this does not help you, check if your battery is well seated in the camera.
3. Check if the battery is faulty by replacing it by another one.

How to charge my camera?

This camera has a LiPo battery that is recharged via the USB cable/docking station.
I have to add that this polaroid Zone 310 has a reputation for very short battery life and very short battery charge retention so this may be why you think that it is not charging. In addition, Lipo batteries also have a finite life (some 500 charges / 24months top) before they need to be replaced completetly.
Hope it helps: let me know if this answer your question.

Tech Question

Automotive batteries are usually adequate for small inverters, (< 500 Watts). When used in a car, we suggest you run the vehicle of your engine occasionally while operating your inverter. If you use the inverter while the engine is off, you should start the engine regularly and let it run to charge the battery. Deep Cycle (marine) batteries are best for larger inverters as they are designed for several hundred charge/discharge cycles. (Automotive batteries wear out much more quickly after heavy discharge).

Battery

The battery life on alkaline batteries vary according to manufacturer and power rating. Alkaline Batteries can provide up to 100 shots with typical usage. The Olympus CR-V3 long-life lithium batteries (LB-01) will provide approximately 500 shots. The Olympus Ni-MH batteries (B-01 4PE) would provide approximately 250 shots per charge and they can be recharged 300 to 500 times.

Type of battery

The Olympus LI-12B (supplied) or LI-10B lithium ion battery can be used with this camera. Do not use any other type of battery. The battery is not fully charged when the camera is purchased. Charge the battery using the supplied cradle before using the camera.

Batteries

The Lithium batteries that are provided with the camera will supply approximately 200 images. The Ni-MH batteries will provide approximate 100 shots per charge. The B-10LPB Lithium Polymer battery will allow 500 - 700 shots per charge and can be recharged approximately 500 times. B-12LPB Lithium Polymer Battery will deliver twice the power allowing 1000- 1400 shots per charge and can be recharged approximately 500 times. The Alkaline batteries, although can be used, is not recommended due to very low battery life.
