You have to check the HDMI cable. In Samsung tvs the HDMI sources only highlights if the a proper HDMI sources is connected to the corresponding HDMI port of the tv. Also check by connecting any other device which have and HDMI connectivity to the HDMI 2 port. www.electro-medical.blogspot.com https://www.facebook.com/electromedservices?fref=nf

The tv Samsung refurbish main tv Turner signal board will set u back like $120-130 bucks + shipping and handleling and u must have to have some basic mechanicals skills like take things aparts and putting it back togther again to fixed this tv just for the used of those HDMI hubs ports again. My questions to u is?Does ur tv used 100% must require those useages of those HDMI hubs ports. Not just used the Samsung tv as is.My Samsung tv have the same problems.I just work around it by skipping all the useages of all those HDMI ports hubs of the tv altogther. Most poeple just used about like 3 HDMI ports hubs for like a HD cable box or DVR cable box and a PS3,WII games systems or Blu Ray DVD player. All these devices can go through hook up for like a RCA component cables hook up like AV1,AV2 and last one a HD hookup by a RCA component cable just add 2 more components wires like a green and purple connections or just buy a set of RCA components cable that design for a HD output.I did that, must more reliable set up too.Because those RCA components cables set up have more plastics in it connections for insulation holes for little shorts and sparks better than those HDMI ports hubs and HDMI cables barely help and the plastic for insulation is a joke almost non exiten. Those all dam HDMI ports hubs are all link into one path way on the circuit board, one dies or got shorted all dies and get shorted out.
If your TV is the KDL-40S2000 as listed above then you will have a PC monitor socket on the back of your TV (outlined in red):
To connect to your PC:
1. Switch the TV to STANDBY or OFF 2. Connect one end of the monitor cable to your TV and the other to your Netbook 3. Switch on the TV - and startup the Netbook 4. Switch the TV to the PC input mode . . .
If the netbook has an HDMI port, you can connect it to most flat screen tv's with an HDMI cable. If there is no HDMI port, then you cannot connect it to a tv.
hi First, remember the old HDMI reset tech tip. Unplug all HDMI cables (one end will do.) Then remove power from all things in play. No, not just turned off but remove the AC. Wait 5 to 10 minutes, hookup re -test thanks

The above interfaces are in your laptop. There is no S-cable or HDMI interface. If your TV have VGA port you can connect your TV to the VGA port in laptop. This will alow you to convert the TV as monitor.
Make sure DVD player and TV have HDMI ports at back to hook with HDMI cable. HDMI cable has standard plugs on both ends and its length can be different like 3 feet, 6 feet or 10 feet. Click HERE to buy required length HDMI cable.
