My PS3 controller pushes other controlls during gameplay that I did not select. Anyone no what that might be?

It's quite possible that the controller is faulty...Xbox One controllers are actually having the same issue as well. Normally speaking you can either contact your manufacturer about an inquiry to get it sent in for repair, or you'll have to go out and get a new one. If they don't have a fix for you, that's one of your final options.

Try to check the Blu-ray discs, maybe they are dirty or scratched

This sounds like a problem with the HDD. If you have any save files you wish to back up, use the Backup Utility under the settings menu. Once you've done that, Format the PS3. If you are still experiencing problems you will need to contact Sony. Their number is 1-800-345-7669.

Maybe your PS3's main power supply is damage. try to find a local electronic repair shop or sony service cebter near you and let them take a look.

You need to RESTORE FILE SYSTEM of your ps3.
Follow this guide.

HOW TO GO TO THE RECOVERY MENU OF PS3 SYSTEM

1. Make sure the ps3 is plugged in (stand by mode).
2. Put out your usb cable for the controller and the controller itself (do not connect yet).
3. Hold down power firmly, ps3 will turn on and then turn off, release power button when t turns off.
4. Hold down power again, you will hear a beep and then a double beep, when you hear that double beep release the power button.
5. Now you should be seeing something in your monitor that say "Connect usb controller", do just that.
6. After connecting the controller press PS button.
7. You are now in the recovery menu.
8. To fix the problem of corrupt data you can choose #3.
9. If you want to format your hard drive choose #5. Be aware that this option will delete everything that is in your hard drive.
10. Remember that doing #3 and #5 is not 100% to fix the problem of corrupt data, I say about 70%.

i have a g25 wheel on my ps3 it is simply plug and play.
if you struggle with buttons check this out it has all the functions:

Top-triangle-cancel-reverse(gear to back car up)
Left-square-cancel
Right-circle-E_brake
Bottom-X-enter You can also use the gas pedal for enter

Bottom 4 buttons The Red ones

Second button-Change view
Third button-Pause-quick exit replay at the end of race-This button will also speed up the winnings (to keep from waiting with the cup spinning around so you can get back to racing)
Fourth button-best race line for license test

Buttons on wheel

Left-look back (default)
Right-nitro (default)
I change these two buttons around myself so I have the nitro on the left.

D-pad-same as the controller up,down,left,right. For menue use.
Also for (during race)
Look back-bottom pad
Look left-left pad
Look right-right pad

To change any of the button functions use the DFP settings in the options menue.
I have not used the wheel in photo mode. The only thing you can't do with the wheel is "exit" game. I also never have my controller on during gameplay I only turn it on to exit the game. If anyone needs anymore help with this wheel give me a shout-back and I'll try my best to help.
One last thing make sure your wheel is in the far left port(port 1) or port 3

i leave my ps3 on with it charging, no game, a movie is ok, then let it sit and charge for a while. then try it and see if it works

You might want to start with a System Restore and a firmware update. Also a controller reset might be in order too.

This is a common problem that can be one or two reasons. One is that your PS3 is overheating during gameplay and is shutting down or freezing. If this is the case you should make sure your ps3 is clean of dust and is in a well insulated area. Try investing in an external fan that will keep your system cool during gameplay.

Secondly you may have a problem with the laser reader. If this is the case you will need to have it repaired by sony. You may be covered under a warranty, so please contact sony to find out your options.

Have you charged the controllers in a while. The controler might just be running out of energy to work.
