Your reader has compatibility issue with the disk. Not all disks can be read you will always find some disk that refuses to be recognized. Not the disk fault - player idiosyncrasy. Happens.
Check for the disc to be clean, and if possible use a lens cleaner on the unit. If this doesn't work, the DVD laser must be damaged. In that case, you must replace it.
When it says play dvd, it just randomly doesn't recognize that it's a game. Press A and you'll enter the game. When it doesn't recognize the disc all together, I'd suggest cleaning the disc with an anti-static cloth then putting the disc back in.
The Thing the spins your discs is likely pretty much out of lubricant blame that on microsoft... it causes the disc not to spin correctly and it doesnt get the disc spinning fast enough. Only way to fix it is taking it apart and lubricating it you will have to search the internet for the tools and instructions on how to take it apart
please consult to xbox technician.there is nothing you can do because your laser or lens which read your disc probably either dirty or damages...if it is dirty, i suggest you to buy disc that has a tiny brush attach onto that disc...but if it damages,well............nothing u can do other than send it for service...
i would say for some reason your dvd player is not compatible from now on with that brand of blank dvd!
get the firmware update from the brand website all you do is download the file burnit on a cd and put it in the dvd player should fix most and eventual problems
