SOURCE: GeForce FX 5500 compatability
The FX5500 is a poor-quality videocard - if you're trying to buy one look for a 6800GT or GTX - at the very least a 5800 or 5900. They should work in 4x or 2x and Starcraft and Diablo will play great!
SOURCE: nvida geforce fx5500 256 agp compatible with intel d865gbf ?
Yes, they should be compatible. The Intel d865gbf has an AGP port that supports AGP 4x/8x, and so does the FX5500. You should be fine.
