I have a Kenmore Fridge Model 596-729-12200

fb4dfaa6-7995-4ceb-a384-cb74f4ab1f6a.jpgThe fresh food section has a 67003410 Damper that has a thermostat probe that senses the fresh food section temperatures and then regulates the fresh food section cold air from freezer by opening and closing to maintain a set temperature. If defective the damper may remain closed or remain closed. You can test the damper by removing and placing the temperature probe into a glass filled with ice and no water. The damper should close in the ice and open when not in the ice. I will be here to answer any questions you have, Thanks Sea Breeze

Subzero refrigerator is not cold. freezer is fin

you could have a leak in the sealed system, most likely the evap coil.in the fridge section,is there any ice on the left side back wall?look at the back wall on the left side around 12 inches up from the bottom draws,if there's ice there you have a freeon leak and you'll need it replaced.look at your warranty,i believe the sealed system is under warrany for the first 12 years and it's around 650 dollars to do the job.there are two compressors, one for the freezer and one for the fridge.also open the door, you'll see tow switches on top, push them in,does the lights go out and the fan come on,i've seen the light switches stick, the lights stay on and the fridge gets very warm.how old is it?if it's digital is it saying to clean the coil or anything like this?

Our bottom freezer, frenchdoor whirpoolgold 2008 refrigerator stopped cooling the refrigerator last night. The freezer works fine. What do I need to do. I emptied the refrigerator, vacumnned off the...

It has a motor mounted above the evaporator that pushes air up into the fresh food compartment. That fan motor might not be working. To get to it you need to remove the bottom door and get the food out. Remove the ice maker and shelves and then the rear access panel can be removed. Before going through all that though you can check the continuity of that fan at the control board located behind the ice box. I have a repair manual HERE

FREEZER SIDE TOO MUCH ICE FRIDGE SIDE NOT TOO COLD

If it has ice buildup on the back wall inside the freezer, it appears to have a defrost problem. Unplug it, put your food in another unit (or ice chests), open the freezer door and let it thaw out overnight for at least 12 hours or more, or until all the ice has melted from *behind* the back wall. Then close the doors and run it for 4 hours and check to see if the fresh food side is cold. If it is, call a repairman to fix the defrost problem. That could be a burned out heater, terminator, or defrost timer depending on your exact model.

Freezer is cold but not keeping icecream frozen.

If, the fresh food section is 34- 38 degrees, then the freezer should be cold enough to keep ice cream solid. All of the cooling capability comes from the freezer section. I, personally, would not waste time or money on a ten year old box. Ten years ago it cost $1000, so, the outlay is $100 per year. Dump the old refrigerator and get a new one.

SubZero fridge problems

Ice buildup on the back left wall is the sign of an evaporator leak. Not something you can fix yourself, at some point it is going to be completely out of gas, I would call for service now

Refridgerator/freezer will not cycle off

http://www.subzero.com/locator/locator.aspx?type=0&zip=Zip%20Code is the factory locator for service and parts. 2, 5 ,12 warranty applies. If you have cleaned your condensor located behind the bottom drawer, it sounds like you may have a sealed system problem and the unit is running long to keep up. This is under the five year parts and labor or the year 6 -12 parts only warranty. If it was a board problem and running all out you would not maintain desired temp. If you call the factory at 800-222-7820. They can walk through some more steps to narrow down exactly what you need to do.

Freezer works fine but the fridge won't get cold

It sounds like cold air from the freezer isn't making it to the fridge compartment. This can be cause by a several things. The damper that lets air into the fresh food side is stuck in "closed" position, the temp sensor (t-stat) isn't working properly, the evaporator fan (in the freezer comp above the coils) isn't working to blow air up to the fresh food section. In some situations, the defrost cycle for the freezer section isn't working and the coils have frozen into a block of ice and air can't flow over them properly so you get not cold air to the fresh food section but the freezer still stays cold due to the block of ice.
