I am having the exact same problem. Just got my cartridge refilled, and whenever I hit the print command, I keep getting the message "printer cartridge missing." It's obviously there! gaahhh, so annoying! I hate dell.
Uninstall the drivers you put in all ready. Do it through add and remove programs. then reboot and then unplug you printer from you computer. Install the drivers first before connecting the print to the computer. As you go through the installing process, it will tell you when to connect and turn everything on. hope this helps you, please leave rating, thank you kindly
ur default printer might be set to microsoft image printer...
go to control pannel, then go in printer & fax then right click on appropriate printer & click on set it as default printer...now try printing
go into your control panel and open add remove programs. then remove the printer in this list. then reinstall the drivers with the disk that came with the printer. this should solve your problem.
