Question about SanDisk Sansa m230 MP3 Player

SanDisk Sansa M230 Problem:When connected to my PC and try to open system says " this device is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" . If "yes" is selected then system says it can not be formatted.

Hello,

Connect your SanDisk Sansa M230 to your computer again. Ignore the format message and go to My computer icon on your computer, right click on the drive (E:or F: or G: etc) representing your SanDisk Sansa M230, scroll to format allow it format from there.

If it still refuses to format, you can the reset the SanDisk Sansa M230and try again.

It sounds like there is a problem with the firmware...call sandisk and have them do a firmware upgrade on the device...once you do that it should fix the problems you are having right [email protected]

Sansa says full but there is no files located....


You should format the device thru My Computer, rather than Windows Media Player.

FORMAT: My Computer>Device Name (m230)>Right Click and select format.

This will erase everything on the device and you can start anew.

Can not delete songs


If its not showing up, try changing the mode on the device.

Settings>Mode or USB>Change to the other mode.

Connect to your PC. If it shows up, format the device.

To format in My Computer>Device (m230)>Right Click and select format.

My sansa is driving me crazy


Try connecting it without the battery. If it shows up, format it. To format My Computer>Device Name>Right Click and select FORMAT. Please add to the question if that didnt work. Best of Luck.

How did you transfer the music? If they are not viewable on the device, you might try updating the firmware. Otherwise, I would format the device and drag and drop the files manually thru My Computer. * format - right click on the device in My Computer, and select format
