Re: Sock stuck in hose midway. Unable to getit out with...
If the sock is midway, taking either or both ends apart won't help. Take it to a vacuum repair shop and ask them to try to unplug it. You may need to buy a new hose.
take a toilet fish to remove it... I have a teenager, and when he vaccuum his bedroom, often the hose is stuck, with a sock or bag or kleenex... My solution works... Fish for toilet ! :) wont break nothing and in 5 minutes it's fixed.take a toilet fish to remove it... There are two different styles of hose for the 6500 vacuums. Please be careful when you take the handles off and also when putting it back togeather. To remove the handle there are two screw caps that you need to remove to get to the screws. You can do this with the tip of a knife or something similar inserted under the edge of the screw cap and pry up. The screws can either be a Phillips head or a torx bit. Remove the screws and then separate the top part of the handle from the bottom. Make sure to notice the position of the wires and do not unplug them from the switch or the contact block. The contact block at the hose end of the handle has two contacts that transfer the power from the hose to the handle and will bend out of shape if you are not careful. To remove the contact block, use a flat head screw driver under the block and pry up. On the older models, the handle will slip right off. If you have a newer model, there is a handle retainer at the base of the handle and will push out with a screw driver. It only goes one way and
the handle will slip off.
To replace the handle just reverse the procedure. Good luck.
Hi Jackie ma268...
You need a metal coat hanger nd a pair of pliers.
You will straighten out the coat hanger with a pair of pliers, except the end that you hang the clothes hanger up with, because it has got the hook already made..
After you have gotten the hanger straight, you will take the hook of the hanger and make a smaller hook that will slide easy into your hose with the hook being able to catch the sock ...once it has caught the sock, then twist it a few times so that it will get caught up in the sock really well...then pull the sock out of the hose...Job done.
Please take time to rate me
The easiest way to remove an article of clothing from the hose is to remove one end of the hose from the vacuum, and reach in with a piece of wire with the end bent into a hook. A wire coathanger will work well for this. Just straighten out the coathanger, take a pair of pliers, and put a small bend at the end of the wire, in a J, or hook shape. Then, reach the wire into the hose, and when you feel the obstruction, twist the wire, so that the hook gets stuck on the sock. Then, pull it out, and reattatch the end of the hose back on the vacuum.
It doesn't matter which end of the hose you remove, just whichever is easier, and hopefully closest to the clog.
Do not try to push it out, as it will just bunch up tighter. It must be pulled out.
just push a longer rod down the hose its the only way to get this out i bet its right at the hover end to and a wire hook may get at it from were the hose gos into the hover bag,(mine gets blocked up there every time)
i use a lenth of welding wire with a hook bent in it but a coat hanger would do if you straiten it out first then bend just the first inch of it so it fits inside the hose
Usually a plugged hose can be cleared using a broom handle, if you can force the blockage through, if not as previously suggested a coat hanger attached to the broom handle (duck tape will do) straighten out hanger so it can be used like a cork screw to screw into the blockage and pull it out, socks, underwear and pantyhose are the usual suspects!
Yes, it is a ground wire. When you put it back together, make sure that the two halves of the hose handle are holding the wire up against the metal. I just had one apart the other day for the first time and if I recall correctly, the wire goes near the center for reassembly. Hope this helps!
remove dust bin from hover and remove handle from hose then remove hose from hover and push a peice of doul up hose to remove sock and rebuild hover or buy new hose hope this helps
first off how did u get the sock that far..lol but yes it (can but it is a pain and u chance tearin the hose but if ufeel like u have to better get a roll of duct tape just in case)but i would try the coat hanger a little more put a bend at the very end of hanger hook the sock and pull
