V955 does not work

It sounds to me like the harddrive has errors on it. First, I would try completely reinstalling windows with the windows disk. If that does not solve the problem there are several pieces of software that are much stronger harddrive repair solutions than the built in Windows one. Try this one, it is free for 10 days. You will need another computer (friend's computer?) to download and burn this software onto a CD, then put the CD in your computer and boot to it by pressing any key when it asks you to.

You may have to try reloading windows. It sounds like a software problem.

I have a similar problem:

I have a Compaq Presario SR2010NX desktop computer. Recently, very occasionally, the computer would freeze and the screen would scramble. It almost looks like someone chopped up the picture on the screen. Then we would have to manually shut down the computer and restart. It would always work fine afterwards.

Yesterday the computer did it again. It restarted fine but when my boyfriend tried to install a new mouse the computer froze again and the screen went scrambled. Well this time it did not start back up. I tried to unplug the computer from the wall and restart but that got me to the COMPAQ screen and then the computer froze again and the word compaq was doubled all the way down the screen. We continued to try to start it in PC recovery but it would get the the program and freeze. I actually got it to run once but I couldn't see what it was doing because the screen was scrambled.

Now we have restarted it so many times that it will start up, light turns green, and stays green. The computer sounds like its starting up and it seems louder than normal. The computer doesn't do anything and the screen is black. The lights on the keyboard do not turn on but the light in the mouse does. The CD drive will light up and run as well but nothing happens after that. I can't see the cursor and the keyboard does not work.

I opened the computer up, cleaned the dust off, tried to re-install my old RAM and that did not work either. I disconnected the CD drive but that did not work. Tried to start the computer with nothing plugged in except mouse, keyboard and monitor and that did not work.
I don't know what to do! Help!

Does the rest of the system seem to work? In other words, if it is using windows and speakers are attached and volume is not turned off, do you hear the Windows startup sound? If it does not normally make the startup sound, can you see the drive light on and after a while (long while) does it flash and then stop blinking?

If you believe the system is booting, try taking a bright flash light and shining it at the screen can you see the desktop or anything? If so, then the back light is not working. This could be:

• Inverter has failed (most likely, inverter supplies voltage to run the back lights)
• The back light bulbs have burned out (only likely if it has received a severe shock or is fairly old with LOTS of use time)
• A connector has come loose. (Least expensive but also least likely.)

disable the screen saver mode and check.

Try this:

Click Start, select Run, type "services.msc" without the quotes and press Ok. Services window will open up. In that window, select the Windows Audio Service and the status and startup type of the same. In case the startup type is disabled, double click on it and select the startup type as Automatic. After that right click on this service and click Start. In case the Start is greyed out, click on Restart. Now check for the sound.

Disconnect all speaker wires from the unit and power back up. If it does not go into protection, post a comment and I will walk you thru troubleshooting. If it still goes into protection, it needs to be serviced.

hello..this is the 1st you need to try..if you have a CRT monitor or LCD Screen try to put the signal Video on the Laptop located at the Back of unit then try to boot your unit...Thanks...

Disconnect the a/c power. Leave on until battery drains completely.Then plug in and allow battery to fully charge before starting.Should work then.RICHARDM69

press Camera button + volume down + power button ( together )
if the mobile turn on and show ( download or any word .. so you can fix it by changing the software )
