Hello sir, i am facing a problem regarding sound in my compaq presario v3700 laptop(running under windows xp service pack 2).. when i install sound driver, sound does not come? what shud i do?? should i istalll chipset driver of that model first before installing sound driver or should i try some another?? i hav tried installing windows xp sp2 sound driver in that, even then the voice does not come??? plz suggest me something now...... plz..

Hi.

Yes you should install the chipset driver first. It is always the first one to install on a freshly installed Windows.

I don't know if it is where you got your drivers but compaq.com will provide everything you need by choosing your laptop model in the support page.

Put your Windows XP cd-rom in the drive and boot from your drive. You will be automatically led to the installation steps onscreen

You require Xp Pro that supports SATA - standard Xp is IDE - you must aquire a copy of Xp that is SATA compatible.

if u have 4gb ram u culd not load xp. so install sp-3. i think when u start to down loadxp u should get blue screen and hdd and ram error. first take out hadr drive and format it another computer then u can get install xp.(nepal)

Hmm...the virus you remove probably damaged your sound-drivers, download new ones and reinstal them, here u can do that
