My dish washer wont finish cycle and wont open soap door

You should check the water outlet - probably discharges into your sink through a garbage disposal - the water outlet is likely plugged and water can not discharge down the sink. You can remove the hose and clean it out.

Make sure no dishes have block it from opening. If this is a dial model, then with the door open so you can see the soap cup, turn the dial and see if it opens up. If not replace soap cup.

There are 2 causes for this.

The first is most common, and easy to check. If you have something blocking the door from opening at the proper time, it will never release the soap, and by the time the cycle finishes, it will be locked again. Make sure nothing tall is near the front of the load, especially on the soap dispenser side. Try running it on normal cycle with the dishwasher empty (even take the racks out if you can) to see if it works with no obstructions.

The second cause is much less common, but harder to check. A mechanical failure inside the door could be preventing the trigger from opening the soap door at the proper time. For this, unless you are mechanical, it's best to call an appliance repairman. It requires taking apart a portion of the front door assembly.

Run it a few times with a soap tablet in the cutlery basket. The door is just sticking and doing this normally cleans them up.

Try this... Wipe out the soap dish with white vinegar and a soft cloth.. make sure you get everything off the edges of the door and look for any nicks, blemishes or deformation of the dispenser door to make sure it is not mechanically binding up when it is cycled open. If Ok.. then.. clean your drain filter.. then.. start a wash cycle using the hottest setting ( without any dishes) .. and after about 10 minutes or so.. stop the process and open the door and add in 2 cups of white vinegar.. Let it complete the wash cycle.. When complete..try running a dishless cycle on any setting with detergent ( use about 1/3 less than you usually use) and see if that dispense adequately. If that works, then the next time you load the washer. make sure you don't have anything up against or limiting the door from opening. Hope this helps..

the dispenser will always open when the washer goes through it's regular cycle. I would recommend to only use powdered soap, that is what the washer was designed to work best with.

water is getting past the gasket during the start up cycle. by the time the door opens, the water has caked up the soap. also, its not clear when in the cycle the door is opening.
try using liquid soap.
also, take a peek just after the machine has finished filling and starts washing to see if the door is opened on the soap disp.

Mine is crazy too! Sometimes, if I open the soap dispenser it will open, othertimes not. Sometimes, if I pull up on the big, round knob (that you use to turn on the cycle), because it gets stuck down. Once in awhile, I just put it on the last 2 minutes of spin cycle again.
