Hi dj,

have you tried charging with a different cable/usb charger? They are very common; borrow one just to test. Quite often the cable is the problem. If not, does your mp3 player have options to 'allow charging from usb'? If not, Im afraid you may have to use the power adapter.

Good luck.

I plug my mp3 player into the usb port on my computer and it doesnt turn on to charge like it did before. i tried to turn on my mps player and it acts like there is no power. i just got this mp3 player and...

Hello

Check the connections on both ends to make sure they are attached securely. If the MP3 player is still not recognized, go into the player settings and change the Online Device from Media Device to USB Disk. Use a different USB cord if you have one because it could be broken and not allowing your computer to recognize it.

connect the device to a different USB port on your computer. If the MP3 player is still not charging, plug it into a wall charger. Try charging the Coby device overnight. If it still will not charge, the battery may be bad and you'll need to contact Coby for assistance

How dont know how to charge my mp3 player

Some things to check for when your player does not act like its taking a charge. USB Cable Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable that came with your player. Computer in Hibernation mode Make sure the computer isn't entering hibernation or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be ON in order to charge your player. USB Port 2.0 Make sure the player is connected to a USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems). USB Port location Try plugging into different USB ports (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); occasionally the front USB ports have limited power to charge up the device. Battery Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery. Latest firmware Depending on what player you have, make sure it's up to date with the latest firmware. AC charger (optional) AC chargers (sold separately) have a 500-1000 milliamp max output, which provides much better charging ability than a USB port.

No power mp5 i use a cell phone charger in my mp5

What you will need to do when mp3 player does not charge. First use another charger to test if it's the charger is working properly.

And secondly After testing for charger, and still it does not charge, that means the charging port on the mp3 player where the charger is been plugged in is not working properly. You will need to replace the charging port.
Alternately you can charge it from your computer by using USB cable. It automatically charges when connected to a USB port

Charging the mp3mp4 player

  1. Get a USB wall charger. These are AC adapters that plug directly into the outlet. You then plug the USB from your MP3 into the port on the adapter.
  2. Charge your MP3 player on the go. There are also charging kits that plug into the cigarette lighter or power plug in your car. These kits come with a DC power adapter that has a port on the end for you to plug in your MP3.
  3. Acquire Apple iPod specific chargers. When you need to charge your iPod music player through an outlet, look for the Universal USB car charger or the Universal USB travel charger made specifically for Apple products.
Make sure that you have your player on a power strip or surge protector so that if you get a surge you wont fry your player.

Ilo mp3 player won't turn on

Ok, SOME MP3/4 Players indeed charge from the USB port, albeit slowly... usually tho there comes a charger that plugs into the "Mains" and then plugs into the USB socket on the Player.. Sometimes if the Battery goes really "Flat" the USB port is unable to supplu enough "Current" sucessfully charge it up. (Hence the need for wall charger) IF it was entirely Via USB it would take many hours, I would at least think overnite. Hope that hepls.
