Hello, I've got a problem with my dcrtrv14 (sony)

Hello, I've got a problem with my dcrtrv14 (sony) handycam. When loading it with a random tape it wil give error message c:31:23. The manual says something about trying another tape or disconnecting the powersource or battery. I've tried this, so far not succesful. Should I clean someting inside? Thanks in advance for your answer. Kind regards, Gertie Vincent

Here is Sony's page for the product: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=DCRTRV280&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=manuals#/manualsTab
I don't see where it has support for any memory card format. If you can find any slots built into the machine, upload a picture and we could probably tell you what they are, but from what I've read, you're either using the digital 8 tape, or you're streaming over USB to a computer.

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
