Hey!
The power supply in external!
You can buy a replacement one here...
Regards,
Pelu.
Unfortunately you might have to slide open the frame sides as it is locked on with plastic locks. So if there are no screws seen on the rear the frame could be sealed with the self lock on the body.
Now I would not want you to open this as these are tiny circuits with a switch mode power supply internally to power the unit and cannot be changed by removing.
You will need to get the help of the dealer in your area to repair or replace the circuit without damaging the frame.
Checking the power also requires technical support and is not advisable as a wrong move can spoil the memory and LCD unit.

I was not explicit enough. The LCD on the power supply does light up, its the LCD in the picture frame that does not light up. I checked the voltage coming out of the power supply (I had to dig up my old multimeter) there is 12 volts coming out.
My problem is further along the circuit, and i am hessitant to open the casing without some kind of diagram. I have memories of messing up circuitboards that were soldered onto the casing and don't want to cause permanent damage to the wiring..
Can you help me further?
1. how to open the casing
2. to pinpoint why the device is dead
3. to guide in fixing it.
