I have an Olympus VN-4100PC digital voice recorder.I changed to Windows7 from Windows XP. But I have the old compatible for XP/2000 software installed on my PC from the manufacturer's CD. Now my PC wont detect the device when plugged into the USB port. It just keeps blinking the PC symbol on the device

Purchased an Olympus VN-4100PV digital voice recorder a couple of months ago at Radioshack. (no software came with it)
Recently purchased new PC with Vista 64-bit. Recorder will not work.
Called Olympus today, 12-3-08 and was told no driver is going to be
issued to remedy this situation, thus rendering my device useless.
Thanks for nothing Olympus product support.
I had the same problem with the VN-4100PC and 64-bit Vista, and have solved it by accessing the recorder under Windows XP in a Sun VirtualBox. This will probably work for the VN-2100PC
