Locate the line that reads "Block pop-up windows" and click the "Exceptions" button next to it.
Enter the full URL of the site for which you want to allow popup windows.

I cannot access my internet banking because of pop up blocker

Your pop-up blocker is a function of your browser settings. Go into the settings menu and either disable the pop-up blocker or make an exception for the site you want to use. Depending on your browser you can select the level of protection that your pop-up blocker gives you so that it will actually allow pop-ups for stuff you actually click on to pop up.

You may need to add yahoo.com or yahoo.co.uk or yahoo.*your country* to the list of allowed (exceptions) websites in the pop-up blocker.

This can be found under the tools menu and select Pop-up Blocker and Pop-up Blocker Settings.

Type in the website address that you want to allow (www.yahoo.com or whatever your local yahoo site is called) to display automatic pop-ups in the Address of website to allow line, then click on the Add button. (See screenshot below)

NOTE: Repeat this to add more websites to the exception list to allow them to display automatic pop-ups in Internet Explorer.

Advanced options Internet Explorer provides advanced configuration options through Pop-up Blocker Settings. To access these settings, open Internet Options, click Privacy and then in the Pop-up Blocker area click Settings to open Pop-up Blocker Settings. You can configure the following options:
  • Address of Web site to allow. Enter a URL and click Add to add sites to the Allowed sites list. Any site on the list can open pop-up windows.

  • Filter Level. There are three different filter levels that you can use with Pop-up Blocker:

    • High: Block All Pop-ups. The default behavior of Pop-up Blocker allows sites to open a pop-up window when the user clicks a link. This setting changes that behavior by blocking windows that are opened from a link. If this setting is enabled, you can allow pop-up windows to open by pressing the CTRL key at the same time that you click the link to launch the pop-up.

    • Medium: Block most automatic pop-ups. This is the default Pop-up Blocker setting. This setting blocks most pop-ups that launch automatically when a Web site is loaded into your browser, but doesn't block pop-ups that are opened when you click a link.

    • Low: Allow pop-ups from secure sites. This setting allows secure Web sites (those that use the https:// protocol) to automatically launch pop-up windows without requiring that you add them to the Allowed sites list.
