I bought a RAV DVD2 player from a garage sale for $10.00. The seller said it worked fine and they took it out of their BMW for another unit that had a touch screen. I want to make sure it works before I install it into my car. How should I got about this/

You can take the yellow and red wire on deck clip and the brain clip together then do the same to the neg. black wires and hook all the of cords from uint to a 12 volt batt and press the power button

Sorry, but you don't. Garmin Lock is a very secure anti-theft system which makes the unit useless if stolen. Unfortunately it's equally good at making it useless if it's legitimately sold without Garmin Lock disabled or without the password being supplied to the new owner.
Click here to read my FixYa Tip for more details, but in short, unless the seller can tell you either the password or the Security Location then the unit is utterly useless to you.
Since you got it at a garage sale could be anything... connections on back could be loose or even disconnected inside...circuit boards can be burnt out...(VCR) heads can be bad...(DVD) laser eye could be damaged - should have asked the seller to connect it and demonstrate features before you purchased it : ) Also check condition of your cables...Sorry
Take it back, demand a NEW unit, this is unacceptable. Unit unfit for sale. Consumer Guarantee act says must work for the purpose intended for and MUST be fixed by seller, NO repair replacement,
Hi Guys, Here`s the fix! Took out 6 cd stacker found out makers name, stripped it apart found out why it was`nt working, 1 broken part, unable to get part, so went to Garage Sale bought 6 cd stacker diggerent make $20.00 fit into car and it`s all good now, problem solved. THANKS ANYWAY. mc.
