Can this be used with my home computer to rum my fax machine and web cam

MY WEB CAM ON VAIO FZ-290 IN WIN 7 32 BIT DHE DRIVERS DOES NOT WORK. WHEN I TRY TO INSTALL RELATED DRIVERS THE ERROR OF " YOU SHOULD RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" APPEARS! BUT I RUM MY WINDOWS AS AN ADMINISTRATOR USER! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Ah yea, had that happen once. Telus sent me an installation CD but no computer in the house could read the CD.
Well, no big deal. Go to www.logitech.com and download the drivers.

Not all Web Cams turn on automatically, Yours might be one ;-)
Start, Settings, Control Panel. Look for your Webcam, Double click it, wander thru menues/tabs to find ON or Enable button. Close. Use

Faxing Overview

In general, the fax machine in the all-in-one product doesn't need a computer to work. It works just like a stand alone fax machine. You shouldn't have to scan anything in from the scanner in order to fax. Just put the sheet of paper you want to fax into the product's feeder and follow the fax instructions (see the link I posted above).

As long as the product has electric power and is connected to a phone jack, it should work out OK.

As far as legal papers, if you mean legal sized papers, it should work as long as the product supports the paper size you want to use. You can get that on the product specifications web page at HP.

i have vista home and mine worked fine until i installed a web cam and then it just gave up. But now it works great - here is what i did

unpluged both the scanner and the web cam
uninstalled everything to to w/ the scanner and the web cam.
Installed the driver from the CD and restarted my machine
Install the Photo 6 software
plug in the scanner - works like a champ.

have not reinstalled the web cam

No can do. It's a stand alone fax machine. If it has a printer port, that's only for using the fax machine as a printer. (I don't think it does)

As I am sure you are aware, the Slingbox is designed to allow you to watch any video source remotely from any computer with an internet connection.

A web-cam would be slightly different, normally web-cams do not have video output, they normally have a USB or Fire-wire connection. There are some software packages and web-cams that allow for remote activation and viewing. These units and programs should be able to be found under "Home Automation" or "Home Monitoring"

Since you have a NEW computer, I will assume you have Vista on it. Yahoo messenger does not support the use of a web cam with Vista.

you could probally download a manual from sharps web, but you need to turn destintive ring to on, menu, 0, 3 I think
