This looks to be a problem with the paper pickup roller. Hence use a little thin Photo paper or replace the Pickup roller and also the Paper feed toller (Long black roller )
Actually, if printer is new, printer can feed up to 350 grm. But if pick up rubber at paper feeder mechanics had distort/loose thickness, it can't. Try to use 210 gsm glossy paper. Or, if you wish to use 280 gsm, pull down paper while printer grab paper.
Problem with paper feeder. Replace paper feeder or replace just pick up rubber at paper feeder mechanics. You can add thickness of rubber by adding black double tape (flexible) (about 1mm).
The glossy paper is much harder to grab with the feed rollers, try one sheet at a time and nudge it in while it is starting to feed. It doesn't look like the printer is very old so I don't think your feed tires have any appreciable wear. Good luck, Dale
May be the problem is at paper sensor, that dirty. The sensor is at bottom of head casing. When paper feeding, the sensor not get the light back, so the printer "think" that no paper. Try to clean paper sensor.
the glossy paper you are using (hp) is smearing the ink... there is now ink on the feed rollers and you need to get in there and clean it all up with alcohol...also run epson matt paper for a few prints to get the color to lay down ..good luck
I'm afraid this series of printer (810 -830) doesn't handle heavy photo paper well - which is a bit strange for a so-called photo printer. If you hold each sheet and help it to feed it will work. But ...... for goodness sake. Your best bet is to sell it on e-bay and buy something that will handle heavy paper.
Try cleaning the feed roller with a strong solution of water and dish washing detergent. You can also remove it and roughen it up with a piece of sandpaper. This is all to help it gain grip on the paper.
