My Epson Stylus cx8400 uses ink so fast. I would like to turn this into a black and white printer only. The problem is, I am out of one of the color ink cartridges and it won't let me proceed until I replace it. Is there a way, in the mode it's in now, to get this to print with the black and white only? I am nearly out of ink on all color cartridges now and do not want to purchase more at the high cost they are.
you can make a selection from the File->Print option of your word processor or whatever package you are using. it is your command that sets the printer to B&W or color. If your Black ink finishes then the printer even if set to color will print black as near black with color inks.
just try to print a black and white, you can do that when you print a document. There is a window that will pop up about to print, click on properties just beside the ame of your printer and go to paper/quality bar menu there you should see a choices between color and black&white. Just choose black & white and try printing.
Check the ink lines, the printer head might be clogged, If thats not fixing anything then check your printer settings on the computer and remove the color option. Changing it to black and white can somtimes just be from color, not just black.
if your document only black and white , the machine only use black ink, no going withdraw the color ink. but you have had to leaved the full color ink in the machine.
