My Keurig Single cup sensor won't work. When I set a coffee cup in the craddle it doesn't recognize that the cup is there. Any suggestions?

This happened to me 2 weeks ago. I searched this site and saw no responses, so I want to answer now that I know what to do. Pull out, clean and dry the spill assembly the cup sits on. Dry the open area. Let it set for about a week or two. I live in CA (its very dry here). I was so happily surprised when I tried my Keurig again yesterday - it is working like NEW. I used to work for another small appliance maker so I knew that the sensor had become wet when the spill assembly filled to capacity. Hope you still have your Keurig and this solution works for you too!

Like Sheritoga said, the sensor assembly probably got wet. Our cup sensor was blinking with or without a cup. I took the metal bottom plate off (just the 8 screws around the outside!) and left it open on it's side over night. You can see a black and red wire running to the front of the machine on each side from the circuit board. I used a hair dryer on COLD setting for about 2 minutes on each side and tested it prior to closing it back up. Worked like a charm for me! Good luck...

Very helpful but I won't wait two weeks. Just dry it good and if you can't reach the sensor then use a hair dryer on low heat to air dry it.
    Happy brewing!

Hi,

The problem is often that the machine develops a leak in the hose that is right over the transformer...the water drips onto the transformer and kills that... then you have no power to run the machine.
