The CMOS battery is located on the motherboard, just under the bottom left side of the keyboard, by the letter 'V". It looks like a clock battery, marked 3V (volts). The battery comes out of its "cage/connector" by gently lifting it with a small flat screwdriver. Replacement CMOS batteries are inexpensive and readily available at any computer shop. Hope that helps

Hi!
I've encountered the same problem. The solution however is rather simple.... except for the troubles in removing the keyboard...
Just on the right of the HD, there is a small 3 volts Lithium battery (not rechargeable, I guess), similar to those used in watches. The code of the battery is CR1220.
Simply replace it (it easily found in electronic shops for a few euros) and all will be ok!
I hope to be helpful!

You will find the CMOS battrey under the modem. Turn laptop up side down, it is in left, lower corner. Battrey you can buy in any electrinic shop, but dont go by laptop name, go by battrey number. It cost 5.00$
Good luck, Marian.

To take the keys off, gently pull up on the top side of the keys until they snap off. Just push them down again and they'll snap back on.
