Want to play dvd region 1 (NTSC) on my sony RDR-HXD860. how do I unlock the code?

Hi . I don't know this model but I have a Sony DVD recorder .and I have the 970 connected with a scart lead . Try that .

The HDD must order from Sony It can not replace with the computer HDD.

Yes common problems are PAL and NTSC signals frequencies compabilities.That why u should,alway buy regions free equipments.U don't stay in the same countries same frequencies regions too long.

Some players are harder than others to do this but you may want to try here or here

I use a Phillips myself as it is not only cheaper but has much more going for it than many of the higher end units. i throw anything at it and it just plays

The older the unit that harder it is to do the region free thing with.
I let my EX have the panasonic (big grin)

If you cant find a fix then look at the codes available for cheaper brands and how easy it is to do it before you purchase one.

Hi, you have to delete de region coding on your DVD, by using a computer (either a mac or PC, or linux) then you can play it. However, if the format is not the same (PAL&NTSC) it's gonna be impossible : for instance, if your PS3 is NTSC, you wont be able to playback PAL content, however, I think it might be possible to the opposite for PAL PS3 owners, since every PAL DVD player can read NTSC (but practically, none of NTSC player read PAL ...) Sad indeed mate.

Its a pain in the *** willing to try converting PAL to NTSC. You better forget it .... However, if its just a region code issue, as I said first, you can just backup it up deleting the CSS (it's illegal... whatever) and burning the region-unlocked movie to a blank DVD and play it ^^

Hi there,
prepare: your one for all
1. select dvd device on remote
2. hold magic button until flashes twice/comes out
3. enter device code 0533 (this programe the GX300 as the DVD choice in your one for all)

Now program buttons 1..5 with the following codes using the instructions below:
1 - 189
2 - 255
3 - 095
4 - 221
5 - 079

1. hold magic button until rabbit comes out
2. press 994
3. press magic
4. enter 3 digit code from above
5. press button (1..5) where to program it
6. repeat steps 1 to 5 for all keys.

have it a go:
1. remove disk, put player on standby
2. press 1,2,3,4,5 - success is displayed and plyer starts up
3. press 1,2,3,4,5 - player shuts down and BINGO!
