The service manual lists 4 blinks as "Fan Stopped". Probable cause is - "Fan 1-4 power is not supplied. (AGU board) - "Fan connector is not attached securely." - :Fan caught wires or harnesses.
I had this problem recently and I was able to clean it up and get it running again.

I have a sony SXRD television, and it has five blink red lights, what should I do to fix it?

99% of the time a 5 blink is your Lamp Driver (Ballast). If that does not fix, then it is either your lamp or the power board. Part# for the lamp driver is 147401221.

I have a 60 inch sony sxrd br2 it will come on for one second and turn off the red power light flashes 4 times then a pause then 4 times then a pause. Is this my lamp?

The 4 blinks do not actually mean that your lamp is defective, but rather that something is wrong with the TV's A-board. Specifically, 4 blinks means no vertical deflection (V STOP), which screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. My recommendation to fixing this problem would be to call Sony and ask for repairs, and you can contact them at:
800-222-7669 Mon-Fri 8:00AM-12:00AM
Sat-Sun 9:00AM-8:00PM EST

If you want to get a hold of a customer Rep quickly, you can try pressing the 0 key on your phone about 3 times.

Sony SXRD KDS-50A2000 Will not power on. Green

I have the same problem with my unit. I've been removing the bulb and just replace it back and unit will work again. I probably need to vacuum or check the fan out too.

60" Sony SXRD that won't turn on

Sounds like the line output transformer (flyback transformer) has gone out.Depending on how old the TV is will depend on if it is worth fixing

Sxrd rear projection standby light blinking 4 times. I unplugged tv and when I turn it back on,it comes on for about 5 sec then goes off and red light blinks 4 times. Changed bulb about 2 months ago. And...

check the bulb door and make sure its closed all the way. be sure the bulb is firmly pushed into its socket. if the problem is still there you may need to repair the power supply board.
