Hi I just bought alan wake and cant seem to play it on my xbox 360 which is 3 yrs old. When i load it up a black screen appears and stops there. However, I can play other games like GTA. I have checked if the cd itself is spoiled but it is not. Can you adviseme on this?

Try freeing up some more space on your hard drive. And also try clearing your cache memory as well.

Your Xbox 360 lens are most likely dirty. And your 360 probably has something like dust stopping it from scanning your games. I suggest blowing into your DVD drive carefully and gently. If it still doesn't work I recommend sending your Xbox 360 back to Microsoft for a new one if your under warranty. If you don't have a warranty you could clean you lens by your self. But opening your 360 to clean the lens could make it worse so do it at your own risk.

Check if your new cd has an uneven surface , like it's bent . Is the grinding noise occuring for all the other games ?, if yes you should check your Xbox's CD reader head .

try and save the game to your Xbox360 harddrive(HDD) and then run it off that?

You must finish the original game and type in the code in the reactor. and wake up in the new game

Check to make sure all your cable is plugged in all the way, and if you are using the HD cable, that it is switched appropriately (regular TV to "TV" and HDTV to "HDTV"). If all that is well, call Microsoft, your system is under warranty and they will RMA it.

try checking if ur discs scratched, as xbox 360s tend to scratch discs
