First you must turn your power to the blue tooth to on in the phone menu, then you have to put your blue tooth device in discovery mode, most blue tooth device manufactures use the power button,by holding it down for 6 to 10 seconds when turning on the device it should have a solid light the you can add or search for device ,they will pair if you have your power on and your device in discovery mode once they pair you will have to enter a pin or pairing code. Most blue tooth device manufactures use a 4 digit pin pairing code they are as follows 0000,1234,1111, or 9999 i hope this helps

How do I put this bluetooth (ant Z9i)into pairing mode? please be detailed as possible...

Pairing Procedure (This is an example only and may differ from your phone, but the process will be the same.)
1. First turn the phone OFF and then back ON again to refresh its memory.
2. Bring the mobile phone to about 30cm from the Z9i Dual Microphone.
3. Find the Bluetooth menu in your mobile phone. Turn Bluetooth ON. (Check your mobile phone user guide if necessary)
4. With the Z9i OFF, Press and Hold the MFB for about 6 seconds. The LED will appear a solid Blue, and then will start fl ashing. The
Z9i is now in Pairing mode and ready to be found in searches by other Bluetooth devices. Pairing mode will be active for 2 minutes.
5. Perform a Bluetooth device discovery on your mobile phone to add a new device. (It takes a few seconds to search for
and fi nd other Bluetooth devices around you).
6. When Bluetooth devices are found, the phone will display “BlueAnt Z9i”. Scroll to it and press OK to confi rm that you
want to Pair with it.
7. Enter Passkey “0000” when your phone prompts you. The phone and Z9i will now Pair.
8. An additional security setting in your phone may be needed to allow the headset and phone to connect automatically
without confi rmation each time you connect your Z9i. Generally in the options for the BlueAnt Z9i, it will be referred to as
“set as authorized”, “add to trusted devices”, ‘’allow connection’’ or similar.
9. If required for fi rst time connection, select the BlueAnt Z9i to connect with your phone. OR, Click the MFB on the Z9i,
to connect with the phone.

You can get the manual on link below. page 9 tells you how to pair.

My blueant z9i keeps on automatically answering each phone call that comes in. Help!I've connected it to both my iphone and sony ericsson and it has the same issue. How do i turn it off?!?!

This is strange...

In general, auto-answer mode is enabled through the phone and not headset...

The issue may be due to a button failure. Check that the button/s on the headset are not pressed in in a way.

If the above is not the case, you might want to get the unit checked.

Pairing my Z9i v1.1 headset with my new iPhone

I had a problem with this also, try this.

Turn off both devices then turn on your phone.
make sure your bluetooth option is "ON" on your phone
turn on the blueant z9i
press and hold both volume buttons, while doing that, press the ANT button.
Your blueant should be flashing fast right now and your iphone should be able to find it.
complete the pairing by selecting the blueant headset on your iphone and enter the code "0000"
enjoy

Blueant Z9i Volume control problem

To isolate the source of the issue, test the device on another model of phone. If the issue carries across you know its the unit, if not it could be the default call volume of the phone.

Z9i Connecting problem.

Have you tried resetting the Blueant Z9i? You push the Volume Up, Volume Down and Blueant buttons all at the same time (with the device on). This will eliminate all paired phones, then re-pair with just your phone (hold down Blueant button for 6 seconds or so to enter pairing mode).

Blueant z9i headset cannot locate push server

Often this is an issue with the phone pairing as a "handsfree" rather than as a "headset". Try resetting the Z9i (push Vol Up, Vol Down and Blueant buttons at same time), then re-pairing ensuring you chose "headset" mode on the Curve.
