I have a Fisher Paykal washing machine. It would sometimes have a puddle of water coming from under if it was over loaded. Now it happens every load. Any idea why?

It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occur. Removing and cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there are gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

Hi I just read your post.
It sounds like you have got the shaft upside down.
Large nut for the shaft goes on at bottom bearing & put your seal in last.Make sure you put enough grease on the lip of the seal.

Leaking water from bottom

Hello there:
If the washer leaks all the time, check these: Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate. Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician. Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it. Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub-

Fisher and Paykel GW708F Screaming like a jet engine on spin!

Hi there

Yea if the machine sounds like a train going through the middle of your house when its on spin it will most definately by your seals and bearings, an easy way to check is lean the machine back onto something and look underneath if the main seal is leaking and the bearings are run there will be rusty looking residue on the motor rotor(the round thing in the middle of the drum), seals and bearings are fairly expensive to replace About $350NZD if no shaft is needed and up to $500NZD if a replacement shaft is needed.

I hope this helps you out.

Small amt of water drips into tub after washer stops fisher payke

If the washer leaks all the time, check these:

  • Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.

  • Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. • Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

  • thanks and please do not forget to accept the solution
