I have a Konica Bizhub 163 copy/fax/print/scanner ... currently the caution feature on the control panel displays check the fax mode so when I press the fax button i then get this message "Caution no suitable paper load paper (B4) press any key" please help

2009 old printer, and needs service that old and ignored.

scan/print/copy fax test 1 does the TEST page feature work? at keypad of C360
test 2 does copy work? classic mode?
last step is tray 1 or 2, pick if tray2 is busted.


on any thing like that we clean all paths in the printer and all sensors too cleaned, of paper dust, and chunks of same .
clean it all .
or call a tech , and that will be their first act
the output tray ? is selection option ! for print modes.

The problem is with the "Automatic Paper Size Sensor" / APS sensors, which are located near LENS / CCD UNIT, under the platen glass.If you can open and remove the platen glass by yourself then open it and clean the APS sensors with soft cloth damped with alcohol. If the problem is still there, then please go to the service mode of your photocopier machine.

press "Check Details" > STOP > 0 > 0 > STOP > 0 > 1, for service mode)
When you are in service mode then go to "System 1" and then into "Marketing Area" , When you are in this option, select marketing area "US" and then press "OK" . Now exit from the service mode and place A4 original on platen glass and check the size showing in the display.
Do not worry whatever size is showing, you will get your complete copy.Now press start button to make copies. When you will make a copy you will get your complete print out.No print area will be missing.

Reinstall the print driver. Does machine make copies, can you print from a different computer. try printing from different programs Outlook, word, adobe pdf. web page. CAN you ping the machine. does it show up under control panel under printer devices. Delete all print jobs from all computers or at the machine. Power off the machine. wait ten seconds power up.

3-Now press the start button. No caution will appear.Next time use the same procedure for making copies.

You do not have the print/scan option installed on your copier. If you did you would have an ethernet port on the machine for network access and when you press the print/scan button on the control panel you would be able to access those functions. The fact that you can not means that the machine can not see that option because it is not installed. The parallel port is common and is used for uploading of firmware into the machine.

Press "Menu / Exit", then "System Data" on the one-touch dial keypad. The display shows the first system data option "Cassette Paper" on the upper line of the LCD display. Scroll through the options by pressing ^ until you reach the option "Message Conf." Then press < or > to select your choice. Options are: ON, OFF or ERR (prints only when a transmission is not successful). When the desired selection is displayed as indicated by the blinking cursor on the lower line of the LCD display, press "Mode / Enter" to save the selection. Press 'Menu / Exit" to exit the menu or "Stop / Clear" to return to standby mode.

I believe a C610 has to do with the scanner unit of the copier....

To print the transmission report:

1. Press the [Fax/Scan] key to display the Fax mode screen.
2. Touch [FAX Menu].
3. Touch [TX Report] on the Set 1 tab.

4. Select how to output the report, and then touch [Enter].
– Default: The transmission report is printed according to the previously specified method.
– ON: The transmission report is printed with each transmission.
– If TX Fails: The transmission report is printed only if the fax could not be sent.
– OFF: The transmission report is not printed, regardless of the transmission result.
