The Dell Inspiron 1750 came with a DVD+/-RW drive. Did you purchase a replacement blu-ray optical drive (or purchase from dell with the upgrade to blu-ray)? If you do not have a blu-ray drive, a bluray movie will not play.
In addition, Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 only supports Blu-ray in their Ultra Edition (Blu-ray Disc) only. You will need to purchase either a newer version of the product that includes blu-ray support (or if sold separately the plug-ins that make the Ultra version of the product). See http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd/compare-retail_en_US.html for the different versions of Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 (and version 9). Scroll down to the section labeled HD Video Support.
You need Cyberlink PowerDVD software to run a BlueRay Disk. Normally, in Acer computer you should have Cyberlink PowerDVD software, please open the software and follow the below mentioned steps
To update the Cyberlink PowerDVD software:
1. Connect to the Internet. 2. Open the Cyberlink Power DVD application. 3. Click the arrow in the upper left hand corner of the window next to Cyberlink PowerDVD. 4. Click on Update Now 5. Follow the prompts to install the update.
Note: The update process may have to be repeated more than once to ensure the latest version is loaded on the computer.
Reminder: Blu-ray protection software prevents Blu-ray movies from being displayed on both the notebook LCD and an external monitor at the same time.

Hey hi. Cyberlink powerDVD will play all the dvds. But you just try playing the same dvd in other players like VLC media player and Media Player Classic. These are the two players available in the market which will play audio and video of all extensions. So just try playing the dvd with this. Still you cannot able to get the audio means, there might be the problem in the disc also. So go for another dvd and try playing it. This is how we need to sought out the problems.
Each of the AVCHD camcorders ships with software designed to playback the files on your computer. Sony's HDR-SR1 and the newer HDR-SR5 both record video in the AVCHD format and ship with the Picture Motion Browser, which plays back AVCHD files on most computers. If you purchased one of the Panasonic AVCHD camcorders, the included HD Writer should allow you to playback video recorded with your camcorder.
While the bundled applications work, my personal preference, is Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra, which supports playback of the AVCHD files and a whole host of other high definition formats. In addition to playing back your HD camcorder files, PowerDVD Ultra plays back Blu-ray and HD-DVD disks (with the accompanying drives connected, of course). PowerDVD Ultra also makes it possible to expand your HD video editing options, by using the included codecs to render the AVCHD video in apps like VirtualDub.

The problem is QuickPlay. Some discs work, but those that didn't, played just fine on my PS3. I had to buy Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 Ultra (10 Ultra also plays Blu Ray), and now, they all play on my HP dv4 laptop. Updates won't matter. Don't use QuickPlay, it's very "fical". Hope this saves you time & frustration. It's not you, it's not your Blu Ray drive, or drivers, it's simply the software/program (QuickPlay) that is the problem.
