60" projection tv went black

We had a partial power outage, and when we reset the main home power switch our 60" Toshiba rear projection tv stayed black. We cannot turn it on, and the red little light that indicates it is on is flashing. Have we blown something out while turning on the home's electricity? What to do?

Unplug the set from the wall for about a minute. Plug it back in and see if it comes back on. If the problem still persists then you have a shutdown condition, meaning a short or missing voltage.
You will need to call a technician to diagnose the source of your problem. If other appliances in the house were affected you may have a claim with your home owners insurance. Good luck

Toshiba 65h93 will not power on. No indicator light. Have unplugged to reset, but only get a clicking sound. Reset button has no affect. This occured after a storm and losing power, but the tv was not...

Possible there is a damage due to the power outage as there can be problems in the main power supply- SMPS- or if this seems intact as the clicking noise shows then some OUTPUT DRIVERS can be short. A good check on the main board is important as a fried board can only be replaced.
For SMPS problems check on:

We have a rear projection tv that has no sound or picture after a power outage??

Suggest unplugging for 15-30 min to allow capacitors inside to discharge and reset and systems from the outage. Then plug in and see. It could be the power supply or a burned out bulb from the quick pulse of loss of power also.

Duraing a power outage my tv went off and now will not come back on no power to it at all. everything is ok cable box is on , stero is on.Is ther a reset button for the tv?

Is your TV's indicator light ON? Did you try turning it on from the remote as well as from the TV's control panel?
If your TV's indicator light doesn't come ON, it could be that the fuse inside has blown due to the power fluctuations. If indicator is ON, your TV's internal power supply seems to be fine, you may have to take it to your technician.

Toshiba model 57H93 worked perfectly last night. Turned off and went to bed. Turned on this morning, and nothing, it won't turn on. Checked all cords and cables, pushed reset button, and still won't turn on. What could cause this to happen?

Power/standby light flashes 7 times and the tv doesn't turn on

Audio Protect (7 Flash): When DC voltage is detected at the speaker or
woofer outputs, IC3604/pin128 (TV-micro) goes low and IC3604 turns off
the main power (AC relay turns OFF).
Troubleshooting Tips:
1) Main cause of defective will be located on the KD-board
2) Confi rm KD-board is securely seated on the G2-board
3) Replace KD-board

No power

Unplug the tv press power on and plug it back in.
some of these units have a reset clearly marked on the back.
connect direct to wall as the surge protector may now have issue.

Rear projection tv wont stay on

It is a great chance Jeff that your Power Supply Board (specially the FlyBack) could not hold the voltage requirement to let your TV set on. When local Power Utility supplier is shutdown for whenever reason, this kind of situation occurs. Voltage spikes, voltage outage, voltage drop and dimming are common things. You could replace the FlyBack and then check out if the TV stays on. This will cost you from $60.00 to $80.00, but it will not guarantee that it was the only component that suffer the shutdown. I really suggest you to replace the main power board (from $175.00 to $250.00 - with core exchange). It is something you can do on your own and I'll recommend you to check on the following site (my favorite to buy parts): http://www.vancebaldwin.com/ SithPitt
