Webroot spysweeper After purchasing the spysweeper and downloading online I cannot log on to open my pc now. I recieved the disc a few days later after i had already downloaded the program and my pc was working fine. One mornining I went to log on and my pc immediately logged off. I dont know what has happened, Please Help. Marty

It sounds like your Webroot Spysweeper With AntiVirus Program crashed.

1. Click on CTRL+ALT+ DEL keys (All at once) to bring up the task manager.

2. Under the Applications tab>Click on webroot spysweeper to highlight it. Then click on end task.

3. I would suggest you uninstall and re-install it.

4. Go to Start>Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a Program

5. Scroll down thru all Programs until you find WebRoot Spysweeper. Click it to highlight it- then click uninstall.

6. When it is finished uninstalling-click on Start>Restart pc.

7. After you log in to your pc>re-install webroot spysweeper.

8. After installation is complete, reboot your pc. This should fix the problem.

If you have your keycode email that was sent to you when you purchased Spysweeper, simply go to http://www.webroot.com/updates/redownload/index.php and fill out the information requested.

You will be able to download the newest version that you had purchased and do a clean install with the keycode again. The email they send will have step by step instructions and your information included.

Though Webroot 6.1 Antivirus works fine on Windows 7, but its Spyweeper (anti spywear), is not seems to be compatible with Windows 7.

You can look for the version of webrrot that is fully compatible with windows 7.
OR
You can go to the free versions of Antivirus availables for Windows 7 (as AVG Free).

kindly download malawarebytes and combofix they are free to download and update them before running them one by one but before you start with this you need to completely remove webroot by using revo uninstaller ,then after things settle ,you may restart the system and try reinstalling web root ,you will find that the problem is fixed.

program conflict or you might have a worm in the system. unistall ss. try disconnecting from internet, open in safe mode. install spysweep, and run. You might need to go to webroot.com to download a safemode installer, no big deal. just put it on the desktop with the program, i had similar problem, was a worm that was stopping the program from opening. .good luck

Although in my humble opinion Spy sweeper is a bit of a resource hog and does not provide the best protection against malware/Spyware. I would recommend checking out malware bytes Anti-malware (they have both a free and a paid PRO version that has automatic protection). It is much more effective, cheaper, and your pc will run faster with this then spysweeper.
