Printer' LCD: print unable 70. How to repair ir?

The printer have its own initialization but seem to fail to complete initialization process. Check and clear the carriage jam, open check for motor failure in the carriage system.

Error 70 normally is a paper jam or something else that is stopping your print head moving correctly.

Open the covers, have a look, and after clearing the jam you must power off and on the machine.

- Dirty encoder strip

- Foreign object, such as a paper clip or ripped piece of paper is stuck in the machine

- Mechanical malfunction

The most common cause of this issue is dirt on the encoder strip.

Use the LCD panel and the buttons on the printer to change from 1+1->1 to 1->1 printing.

Sorry, this is a serious error and it means the PC board is toast. On mine, it gets to 22 on the counter (I assume it's a RAM integrity check) and then the LCD turns red and says "Print Unable 3B". When I called Brother they told me I needed a new PC board, which by the way is very hard to get to (you have to disassemble everything, then take apart the printer piece by piece). The price for the PC board is around $100 plus labor, so you're talking easily $200 to fix this.
