Question about Nintendo DS Console

1 Answer

Hi, my daughter has a nintendo ds lite that she bought in late July of last year. Today when she turned it on it wanted her to re-enter all start up information, i.e name, date, time, birthday. then it tells her to shut off the system to restart it. When we do this it doesn't save and brings right back to the begining of the cycle, name , date, time etc. It won't let her play until she enters this information and since it won't save she can't play her games. What can we do?.

This is a well known problem caused by not using the Nintendo DS console for an extended period of time. Inside the actual console is an internal battery, which when left dormant will cease to work. There are two ways to fix this problem:
1) Try to fully charge the Nintendo DS console, then attempt to use it. 2) Contact Nintendo on the following form:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/manuals/warrantytext_eng.jsp
Providing your warranty is still okay, Nintendo will provide you with a new system free of charge - otherwise you may have to pay a replacement fee which will be a fraction of the actual consoles price.

I bought a nintendo ds lite a month ago and the last week or so, the touch screen has become really shaky. Can I get it repaired or is it something that can't be fixed?

Hi did you buy it new or second hand?

If you bought it new I would bring it back to the shop you purchased it in as it would be under guarantee and they should replace it or repair it for you at no cost to yourself.

If its second hand some of the phone repair shops also do computer and console repairs its worth checking out.

My 8 yr. old daughter left here ds lite in the rain

Go to the retailer you bought it from and if you bought it less than two years ago you can get a new one free with the exchange of the old one only if you have the warranty

DS Lite Won't Work Until it "Warms" Up- Like 15 mintues

Err...Is it too late to return the Ds or trade it in for a new one? Because, if it is messed up you can probably return it to wherever you got it. Also, you can probably take it to Gamestop and have them fix it for around 20 dollars.

DS LITE

Hi,

The described problem you have happens normally if you dropped the DS Lite. So thats why Nintendo states that it must have been dropped. It would be difficult to proof that it not has been dropped.
