The bridge locks onto the strongest signal automatically. this is not the network i want to connect to. how can i select the desired access point for the unit to communicate with?

Presumably, you have a router which provides wireless access for your iPad. (if this is not the case, you are going to need this).
You will need to get the name & passcode (or the key) for your wireless security. Simply connect to your access point and input your key, then you should be good to go.

Most GSM handsets offer a choice to select a new network, automatically or manually. The default setting, in most cases, is automatic, which instructs your mobile to automatically connect to the strongest network signal available. As you move, the handset will continually monitor the available networks, and keep you connected to the strongest one. In a manual network selection setting, your mobile handset will detect if there is more than one network present and offer you a choice. If you then select one network, your mobile phone will remain connected to it regardless of the alternative networks available. You may prefer to remain connected to one network if it offers cheaper outgoing call charges. To manually select networks please refer to your mobile phone user manual for instructions. Your Jersey Telecom SIM card can store a list of your preferred roaming partners. If you have an automatic network selection setting, and there are two networks of equal strength available, the mobile phones will connect you to the one that is highest on your SIM card’s preferred list. Storing the strongest broadcast
frequencies
BSM (best stations memory) lets you automatically
store the six strongest broadcast frequencies.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select BSM in
the function menu.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn BSM on.
The six strongest broadcast frequencies are
stored in the order of their signal strength.
# To cancel, press MULTI-CONTROL again.
Tuning in strong signals
Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those
radio stations with sufficiently strong signals
for good reception.
% Press LOCAL repeatedly to select the
desired setting.
FM: OFF—LEVEL1—LEVEL2—LEVEL3—
LEVEL4
MW/LW: OFF—LEVEL1—LEVEL2
The LEVEL4 setting allows reception of only
the strongest stations, while lower settings let
you receive progressively weaker stations.

You can also perform this operation in the menu
that appears by using MULTI-CONTROL.
Selecting alternative frequencies
When the tuner cannot get a good reception,
the unit automatically searches for a different
station in the same network.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select AF in the
function menu.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn AF on.
# To turn off, press MULTI-CONTROL again.

! Only RDS stations are tuned in during seek
tuning or BSM when AF is on.
! When you recall a preset station, the tuner
may update the preset station with a new frequency
from the station’s AF list. No preset
number appears on the display if the RDS
data for the station received differs from that

set the second router through the web menus to a different ip address, cant have 2 devices on the same (default) 192.168.0.1 address, try 192.168.0.2 (example only) to stop data collisions
connect by cable secondary router lan port 1 to the primary router lan port 4 (any lan port to any lan port),
drag secondary router upstairs on its cable and install it wherever you want
set two routers on different channels.
