Hello. The fax and scan software can only be installed using the the installation cd that came with the printer. The file sizes are big , especially for the scan software, that's why they're not available for download online. If you lost/misplaced the installation cd, I would advise you to call Lexmark. They might send you one for free. Hope I can help you more with that.
Hello. The fax driver can be installed using the installation cd that came with the printer. I don't think it's available for download though. Most of Lexmark's scan and fax drivers can only be installed using the installation cd. If you don't have the cd, you can call Lexmark for assistance with that. They may be able to send you the installation cd. Good luck!
The printe will not scan or print. When I fax documents it is recieved witha balck shadow in teh background. I get error 2200 when I try to print or scan.
In order to connect your printer to send and recieve faxes you need to connect a phone cable from the back of the printer to the connection on your wall where you would generally connect a telephone.
There are usually to openings to connect the cable to on the back of the printer. One connects to the the wall as mentioned above.
The other usually has a symbol of a phone and you can connect a regular landline phone to that one.
CD's are not needed
To set up your phone number go through the menus on the printer. You don't have to do it unless you wish people to see where faxes are coming from.
We are having the same problem. I can hear it dial, but when the receiver fax picks up, there is no signal from the Lexmark to let the receiver know that we are sending. All we need is one stupid "BEEP"! So much for plug-and-play.
Sending a fax by DSL requires one of two methods:
1. You obtain a DSL line filter suitable for connecting a standard voice telephone to the DSL line, then connect an analog fax modem to the line through the line filter.
2. You hire an Internet E-faxing service. See
