I have a Boulder It's overheating and shutting off It's 11/2 years old

Read failure will cause windows not to load. Windows maybe corrupted. Usually with a read failure the problem can be fixed by reinstalling window. You'll need to format the hard drive. As long as the hard drive is working you can do that.

steps that work on all old PCs like this.

1. remove that 17 year old shorted huge batter and leave it out.
2. now the RTC coin cell is bad, not one ever ran 17 year ever.
3. next we clean all that lint out of all vents and RAD and fan or it will overheat for sure and all PCs shut off if overheated.,
4. Next test HDD, if its dead no repairs are possible so we fix that next.
5. then load linux best on this old PC, or w7 might work but costs $120 to try it. no free try like W10, at all,

clean all vents
all oF big RAD
and fan blades.

I bet the PC is sold/ scrapped or fixed after 1 year?
but self shut down top cause are.:

1: the huge battery is shorted, take it out leave it out.
2: the power pack is dead, AC pack the PC must run on the AC pack or the (big battery out) may be dead, test it. ask.
3; overheated is it on a blanket? or bed, or desk are all vents cleaned and fan clean and funs runs fast while running too hot
we do simple heat tests (ask how,costs nothing) ask how to test
guessing will fail, if we guess 13 times. (or more if motherboard modules short)
came with VISTA, still VISTA?

You'll most likely have to buy a used one. The Casio G'zOne Boulder was discontinued and replaced by the Casio G'zOne Rock.

Put a temporary voltmeter @ the battery....see what IT reads...If your charging system reads between 12.8 and 14.2 volts, with all of your acc's. on (headlites,wipers etc.) you don't need to drive into a boulder. Just get a new voltage gauge!!!!!!!
