I listen to my iphone on my Logitech speakers on my desk. When the volume is low, the speakers work great. However, when I turn up the volume, the green light fades, and the speakers are scratchy. Is...

Hi Roxanne
Sounds as though the power-supply might be faulty. As you turn up the volume more power is required from the supply and it's not delivering - hence the light fading.

I bought a logitect with 5 small speakers but i have 3 imput but my computer has only one. how do i connect

Unless *********** board was bought years and years and years, and even years ago, you should by default have at least three jacks. Headphones, or sound out; micorphone, and a line input or second out put. You can adjust your settings in the control panel under audio devices to have a least two (2) outputs, in which case you want to connect the green and black. You should have instructions that came with the system to show you guidelines for setting up the speakers, but you can then use your matrix feature to mimmick surround sound!

The speakers are making a very scratchy noise. They are hooked up to my desktop computer. When first purchased last year, they sounded quite good. Now, they are very scratchy and not on high volume.

Do you by any chance have any other wireless device like a cell phone near the speakers when you hear this?

Any kind of device that has a magnet field will cause scratching sounds on the speakers. I discovered this quite by accident with my old Boost mobile phone.

Suddenly my speaker volume is low and scratchy

Congrats, you yourself is a good troubleshooter. Just pinpointed your problem. What you just diagnoist can be easilly checked just by taking other good known speaker. If that works your speaker is short check for audio output wires. If not your card needs replacement. If need further clarifications just comment.

Re: scratchy speaker sound quality

Have you tried with headphones?  Scratchy WITH heaphones. Reinstall driver. If it's NOT scratchy with headphones.  Either your speakers are blown, (which usually doesn't happen), you need to reinstall your sound card drivers, or bad settings.  Double click sound horn. Turn some volumes haflway, or mute sound channels you aren't using. Options Properties will let you show ALL sound properties. Ctrl+S makes the sound properties half size.
ReInstall Drivers: Start - Settings - Control Panel - System - Device Manager, Expand Sound Controllers, Right Click on your sound card, Click Uninstall.  Reboot and reintall.
Might ask to reinstall automatically.  Thats fine.  Install then reboot.  I prefer to cancel the install until I have rebooted.  But both ways tend to work.
Hope you don't have to change your speakers.  Need to pull your mobo to get to em. Instructions here pg. 5-55

Scratchy Sound, Major Problem

Try the speakers on another PC with good working sound. This will indicate either a speaker problem or a sound card issue.

If speakers work ok on 2nd pc, then you have a sound card issue on your pc. If speakers are still scratchy on 2nd pc.. check the metal connector end, make sure it is clean and shiny. If there is any rust or other oxidation, clean it off with a very fine grade of sand paper

Sound scratchy

Seems to me that the first thing you want to do is find out if your problem comes from the camera speakers/output, or if it records them scratchy. Take one of the "scratchy" cassettes, and play them on another device to see if it transfers bad audio. If it does, then you're worst off offcourse, more of a repair. If it doesn't you can decide you don't need a repair, as long as it does the job. Good luck
