I have an older Mitsubishi TV, model VS-50605, that has been giving me problems. I am not able to consistently get a picture and/or sound through cable. All my other inputs work properly. I can play my Xbox on it and my DVD player works fine. Every now and then I get sound but no picture. On the rare occassion I get a picture through cable, it only lasts about 15 minutes at the most and then it cuts off. I've tried switching between ANT-A and ANT-B but had no luck resolving the issue. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I've suspect a loose connection on your unit. I would advice you to check the cable wire for bad connection. Make sure that you have a good source of signal from your cable provider. Bad solder joints on the tuner section is also to consider but the problem is, this is internal, If you don't have necessary tools and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the problem. Don't attempt to work in there if you don't know the safety precaution of handling it, there some stored electricity enough to hurt you with a little mistake only.
Hope I helped you. Have a nice day!

Picture rolling when I first turn on my tv

A rolling picture or loss of vertical sync can be caused by several components including a bad signal board or jack panel assy. You will not be able to resolve this yourself. contact a Mitsubishi authorized service center.

Mitsubishi VS50605 rear projection TV won't come on

The power supply caps in the light engine power supply were faulty when they were installed. You need to remove the power supply and take it to your local electronics shop where they can remove the (7) faulty 1000uf 16v electrolytic capacitors and insert new ones. If you remove the power supply yourself (takes only a philips screwdriver) and reinstall it yourself, the electronics shop shouldn't charge you for more than an hour worth of time. The caps would be about $10.

Here's a photograph (thanks Don Crawford).
