My Memorex 2040 dvd player gives "error parental" when I try to play a dvd. Any idea what this is or how to fix?

The Parental controls for your DVD player has been turned on. The default setting for most Parental Control setup is G rating meaning that anything above a G rating will not play unless the override code is entered. I was unable to locate a copy of your manual, but if you look in your copy for a heading called Parental Controls, it should explain to you what has to be done to either change the rating or remove the control altogether. Unless you have small children that may use your player you can probably remove the controls altogether. Normally you would have to go into your Setup menu, and then look for Parental Controls in that menu. Unless someone setup a code, you should be able to go in and just turn it off. If there has been a code applied and you are unable to find out what it is you will have to contact Memorex support to find out how to remove it. To ensure that it doesn't get turned back on you might want to hide your remote, as you need to use it to turn the feature on and off.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in resolving your issue. Should you need further information or assistance please do not hesitate to let us know.

Memorex blu ray dvd play says no card

I was able to fix the 'NoCard" error on the Memorex 2520. On the remote control, find the "popup menu" button. This is located on the right hand side of the remote, above the pause and below right of the enter button. This button reveals a "change drive" menu. Highlight 'BD', press enter and you will be done. I am assuming that someone mistakenly changed the drive previously to "SD Card".

How do you clear a parental lock? No one can remember the password to clear it off, so is there a way to reset the dvd player completely to get rid of it? Restoring it to the factory settings didnt...

According to the manual, you can't. If you forget your password, contact customer service at the
number listed in the Warranty. (in other words, Memorex offers no user help at all)

The only thing you can do here is to take the player to a workshop if it is no longer under warranty, and have them look at it. This is up to you; but ask them anyway for a quote and a second opinion before going ahead (if you wish to do so). Hopefully it won't cost a lot.

Only a workshop with the right facilities and equipment can do this. It helps if the user doesn't set parental control in the first place. Locking a player is pointless.

I have tried several DVD discs in my Memorex DVD player and the same thing keeps occurring where it will say it is loading but then after a minute or so it says "Wrong Disc." It used to work fine...

I am not even sure I am allowed to tell you this but if you take out all the screws holding the cover in place so you can clean the lens inside with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol it will most likely fix your DVD player. MAKE SURE IT IS UNPLUGGED!!! If you dont UNPLUG it you can cause serious injury or death! I myself have fixed several read errors by doing so. Make sure to replace cover before plugging it back in.

Memorex mvd2047 dvd player - no audio when playing dvd

Regarding the problem with the sound on your DVD player, I would suggest you to make sure the audio cables (red and white) are connected properly to the TV and player.

Also, try using a different set of cables since those ones might not be working and this is why you are not getting audio. On the Memorex remote you will find a mute button, make sure it is not activated.
