I downloaded a book in pdf format and my cruz reader wont recognize the format. i have several other books recently download in epub or just digital ebook and its fine -- borders says i need to down load a txtr file however i do not have wireless and cant get my cruz on the inter net from home. the book went into the adobe digital edition on my pc and its fine but i cant get it to open on my reader

Make sure eBook file are right format for your eBook reader app.
If yes- then open eBook reader app first, then find file and open it.

Assuming the book is in .mobi format, use a program like Calibre to re-format the book to .epub format. (Open Calibre, then add the .mobi book to the Calibre library, then convert it to .epub) Then use this same program to send it to your Kobo.
(If the book is already in .epub format, you obviously don't need to re-format.)

Yes, you can. But, you have to download the Kindle App to your tablet first. Go to the Play Store and enter Kindle into the search box. It's free. After downloading you can open the app and log on with your Amazon ID and password. Then it will download and synchronize and you will see all the books in your library. All you have to do is touch a book you want to read on your Samsung and it will download forthwith and when the progress bar goes to all the way to the end you can open it and read it. One caution, The Kindle app limits the same book to three devices only.

There are only three ways to load books onto your Kindle: (1) download them from Amazon via an account (using Wifi or 3G connection), (2) email them to your Kindle the unique email address for your Kindle which is assigned to you by Amazon at the time of registration, or (3) download the ebook file from a computer using the USB cable.

Some formats are NOT epub. The formats are specific to their ereader which can be on a computer (but not other ereaders). Some sites do not make this clear in the description. You need a pdf or epub format. Comic with .cbr, or .cbz will also work.

This depends on what format they are in (epub, mobi, pdf, html, txt or a range of others) You may need a special reader for that format.

I use a library organizer calibre which contains a converter and a viewer which supposedly allows you to convert books between different formats and to read book in a variety of different formats. You must add the book to calibre to be able to read it. It's free. I have a kindle but that only reads mobi formats, and reading epub books atm so calibre works well for that. I have not used any of the "library" functions so far. I found it quite difficult to learn at first.
