Hi, Possible problem for system shutting down is when the sound IC on the system is getting weak and can't power the system volume up to the max volume range, itshuts down. It's Protecting the system form getting damaged by always shutting down. You will need to replace the Sound IC with another one for i to power up the system to it maximum volume range.

Have a nice day..

I CANNOT GET THE CD DRAWERS TO OPEN ON MY SHARP MINI COMPONENT SYSTEM MODEL CD-DK890N

Chances are the loading mechanism is out of alignment. Very hard to realign this mech. even the manufacturer just replaces the entire mechanism when repairing.

My Sharp Multi-System Mini component system shelf... is stuck on the ipod setting, if I push audio-in, it goes to audio-in for a second and then switches back, the same thing happens when I try and switch...

Have the same problem. Called Sharp and they told me to do the following:
At front of unit push open/close and stop button at same time. While these are held down press CD button All clear should appear on screen.
Have not tried yet, since I am at work

I replaced my mini component stereo (360 watt) speakers with new speakers that apparently can handle up to 600 watts. If the volume is too high on the receiver, the power cuts out. I think this is because...

probably you are right due to high impedance of the speaker the receiver cant handle it, the mini component can handle 80 to 100 watts only. you need a high watts amplifier to used your 360 watts speaker, just connect it to the audio output of the mini component. thanks
