We currently have a HP LaserJet 4600dn. The printer has been working perfectly fine for the last 9 months, however, today the printer does not seem to want to work. I tried printing a confirguration page (Which did print) however, it would normally print two pages with an ip address being on the seocn page. This does not seem to be the case and only one page is printed with no ip address whatsoever. I have spoken with Hp Tech Support and they asked me to check at the back of the print if the network cable (ethernet) was connectted properly and if there was a light on next to it. There is NO LIGHT! I also checked in the router to see if the network cable is connectted, which it was however, on the front of the router, it seems as thought the network light for that port does NOT come on. Please advise! Very stuck and HP are now SENDING ME A QUOTE for a service engineer to come out. Regards, Roy

Try changing the port on the router.
Also you can follow the cable from the printer to the router.
Check that the cable has not been damaged.
Replacing the cable and trying another port on your router is the cheapest option
before the HP Technicians come out.

The printer counter needs to be reset by going into menu and finding resets. Then toggle down until you come across Transfer Kit & press ok.

That indicates that the printer has a network card problem. You can try rebooting/resetting which can clear it but usually means a trip to the hp repair shop.

Can't stop the printer calibrating

No guarantee this will fix your problem, but the last time I experienced this problem it ended up being one of the toner cartridges. I replace her refurb. toners to OEM brand.

HP color laser 4600dn FAN noise

Yes this is normal. Everytime someone prints, the printer exits power saving mode and the fan will stay on. If you leave it on and don't print to it overnight, the fan would shut off in the mornig. But you probably turn the printer off everynight and are printing all day, so you don't really have to expectthe fan to power down unless its not being used for an long period of time idleing.

Printing error on desktop when printing to 4600dn

try re installing the original software for the printer. sometimes hp drivers get corrupted by either use or anti virus. this normally should fix the problem If it does not please come back

I have an HP 4600dn that is having trouble printing color.

there is a setting in the menu to adjust
go to Configuration
adjust color

you have to determine which way to adjust it on a X and Y axis

try changing the number X to a high # to see which way it moves then adjust from there.
