If your pump is surging then you do not have enough water in the bathtub or you have a jet that is blowing air into the suction fitting. this happens a lot when a jet faces the suction and the air control is wide open. the suction pulls in too much air and causes the pump cavitation (surging). Try pointing the jet opposite the suction cover upwards and see if that doesn't solve the problem.

Re Installed a rebuilt pump and now the pump starts surging once I open up the flow to the max. Previously it did not.

I think an air leak into the suction side, or with the new-found power of a tight impeller, the water level in the skimmer box is a bit low.

Check all joints, especially the rubber bellows which is usually on the suction side of the pump basket, and the seal on top of that basket.

Pump difficult to prime-surges-will not pick-up??

let the air out of the filter as you try to start, this makes it hard for the pump to pick up the water. i would check the impeller and shaft seal, and basket for cracks, if the basket is cracked 99% of the time the impeller is plugged ..shaft seal there is is one one ebay with how 2 for around 10 bucks SMART ! PRIME the pump after a repair !!

We've got some flow and see the pressure gauge surging and even the back flush surges. any ideas?

just an idea....your impeller inside the pump is clogged or defective. Unless you have a leak, this is the only thig it could be. It is surging due to excessive air in the system.

LG LDF8812ST WONT DRAIN JUST INTERMITTENT BUZZ NOISE

Hi, there may be an obstruction in the pump housing that is causing the motor to freeze or, the impeller may be stripped and , jamming the pump. this will cause the hum you are hearing. the best way to inspect is to , extract the drain pump by, removing
the bottom drain filter housing or sump. manually
move the pump impeller to self it is moving freely. if the impeller is stripped, it will not be able to produce the draining surge necessary to pull the water out.

If the impeller is fine and, there are no obstructions visible, this will confirm pump failure.. replace the pump in this case

Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

Continous surging and stalling

Per your description, I would suspect a fuel pump issue. When the fuel pump is running the pump impeller heats up. On an older pump the impeller can begin to seize up and momentarily stops and starts. Some times it just stops and has to cool down for a couple of minutes, then is ok for a while.
To test this theory, when the engine stalls and stops, your mechanic can use a rubber mallet and hit the bottom of the gas tank, this will free the pump impeller and the car will start again.
Or, have him install a fuel pressure gauge and go for a drive. If the pressure begins to fluctuate and drop, you know the pump is causing the issue.
Good luck, let me know.

Pump Continuously surges

hi,im a hobart service tech.couple of things to try (you may already have)--check the wash arms at the seams make sure their not cracked, make sure the drain is sealed and not leaking at all.if the unit loses any water or the wash arms are cracked at the seam the unit will sound like its starving for water.make sure the unit is leveled.next time you go back if its acting up pour a half gallon of water in the tank and see if it runs correctly,if it does you could be losing water or the water fill vave could be acting up and not letting enough water in.let me know.
