Hi!!
The F6 error means Drive motor tachometer error

The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes.
Potential Causes
• Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor/Tachometer and the Motor ControlUnit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU) • Check the Drive Motor • Check the MCU • Check the Wire Harness
Replace failed component.
Good Luck! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa!!

What is Error Code "F6E1"

I had the f6 e1 code flashing on Whirlpool Duet washer. It would stop midcycle and beep. I cleaned out the lint filter. This seemed to help but gradually the problem got worse. I cleaned filter again. Still beeping. I read more solution and finally found the answer! I never put the cover back on. There is a switch on the left bottom that is held in by the cover. Works fine now!

Why does the washer stop during a load and "F 06"

Hello,

The F6 error code means that the computer on the control didnt detect that the motor reached a high speed on the spin cycle, sometimes it thinks the washer didnt spin fast enough because of a loose wire connection either on the motor or the control boards (motor &machine control) if you find that the washer did actually spin at high speed (clothes dont come out sopping wet at the end of cycle) the wire connections or the motor control board will be the potential causes of the F6 error code

Code F6 Oven will not work with any button, I get

Hi janishanson,

The F6 fault code description is an EEPROM checksum error. The EEPROM checksum error occurs when the values differ. In this case, you need to replace the mainboard or control board, also called as ERC.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Kenmore microwave

i fixed by unplugging the microwave with the door open. I plugged it back in and the F6 was gone. I was then able to set the clock and turn the light on/off . When I closed the microwave door, the F6 came back on and the microwave was making a humming noise. I slapped the side of the microwave near the keypad, and the F6 cleared from the readout and the humming stopped. The microwave is working fine now. Don't know why, except maybe slap on the side reset a relay or something. Anyway, I will never by a Sears Kenmore appliance for the rest of my life. The door rattles when you open a close it (like a part inside the door is broken) and this is the second time a fault code has appeared during use. I had GE Profile appliances at my last house, which are more $$ initial cost, but who wants to screw around buying a new microwave every four or five years. I'll happily spend a couple hundred more for the peace of mind and knowing that it will work during Thanksgiving dinner with the family over.

PLEF398AC-SS

Jrig, F6 is a loss of communication between the main board and power board. You might want to have the tech replace the harness between the 2. I don't know what he changed out already but when the top won't work, have him check to see if there is power at the main board P4 harness. That's a 3 pin harness the far right pin 3 being the ground. Other than that, have him check the terminal block where the cord connects to the range. Make sure all the terminals are tight and locked down. Catriver.
